How improv and the tools of theater will make you a better couples coach.

Couples usually come into coaching ready to blame and judge their partner and to seek compromise. Yet that often gets in the way of seeing how their relationship ills have been jointly created. Many couples do not know how to have hard conversations about their marriage/partnership.

In this workshop you will learn how to incorporate improv games and the theater metaphor of “performance” in order to empower couples to break out of their usual scripts, generate new kinds of conversations and take the side of “the relationship”.

This session will be experiential and interactive.

Carrie is a Member Ambassador for ICF Arizona Chapter.

For 25 years, Carrie has been practicing a boldly transformative approach—social therapeutics—in the coach’s chair and outside the coach’s office as a Fortune 500 global change leader and award-winning employee engagement professional. She specializes in group, couples and family coaching and formed The Center for Group and Couples Coaching to train coaches in this breakthrough method. She is co-author of Social Therapeutic Coaching: A Practical Guide to Group and Couples Work (Routledge, 2024). She is a Professional Certified Coach (ICF).

Happy Hour Zoom Meeting For our first meeting I would like to facilitate a discussion on how each of us is providing coaching and in what area (private clients, internal coaching in an organization, through a third party) and kind of coaching is your passion . If time permits, we can also have a discussion on where we see coaching moving forward.
